Weapon design
WEAPON DESIGN GALLERY —
I have a lot of philosophies when it comes to weapon design, but the most important philosophy I believe is what I call “The Three F’s of Weapon Design”:
Function— Does the weapon appear to be built correctly to achieve what it’s meant to do? Does it need to make practical sense?
Form— Does the weapon have a unique and/or beautiful aesthetic? Does it need to stand out?
Finesse— Does the weapon look like it can be effective? Does it look like it can actually be wielded?
I try my best to utilize these when conceptualizing a weapon, but I like to push the limits and play around, too.
HOME CRAFT GALLERY —
I have a small workshop where I like to work on knives, swords, axes, etc. I made a few knives here and there for friends. I even made a sword as a prop for my wedding! I think went it comes to understanding things like good weapon design, it’s important to get your hands dirty in the real world. Knowing how a weapon is made helps me understand how to better design one.
